Sixth grade science teacher, Mrs Parks, asked her class, "Which human body part increases 10 times its size when stimulated?"

No one answered until Mary stood up and said, "You should not be asking sixth-graders a question like that! I'm going to tell my parents, and they will tell the principal, who will then fire you!"

Mrs Parks ignored her and asked the question again, "Which body part increases to 10 times its size when stimulated?"

Mary's mouth fell open, "Boy, she is going to get in big trouble!"

The teacher ignored her again and continued, "Anybody?"

Finally, Billy stood up, looked around nervously, and said, "The body part that increases 10 times its size when stimulated is the pupil of the eye."

Mrs Parks said, "Very good, Billy."

She then turned to Mary and said, "As for you, young lady, I have three things to say:

One, you have a dirty mind.

Two, you didn't read your homework.

And three, one day you are going to be very, very disappointed."

I am about to expend even more energy putting a new quiz on the BB.

New rules apply -

1. To commence playing it will cost you 10 cawwots (paid to Alpha)

2. You will win 5 cawwots each time you are the first with 10 all correct answers.

3. The second place winner will receive 3 cawwots and the rest can try harder next time. * correction - winner gets 5, 2nd 4, 3rd 3, 4th 2, and everyone else 1.

A leading gallery is to push the boundaries of visual art with an exhibition of works which cannot be seen.

London's Hayward Gallery will gather together 50 ''invisible'' works by leading figures such as Andy Warhol, Yves Klein and Yoko Ono for its display of works you cannot actually see.

It is thought to be the first such exhibition staged at a major institution in the UK.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has ended a hectic week which saw his company valued at £106bn after a stock market flotation by getting married.

He wed his long-time girlfriend Priscilla Chan, 27, in a ceremony at his home in Palo Alto, California.

Chan also had a busy week, graduating from medical school on Monday, as Zuckerberg marked his 28th birthday.

the couple who lost 6 of their children in an arson attack can't afford to bury them, now there's no shame in that but he has 17 children between his wife and mistress, so the local community are pitching in with collections for the kids funeral and i was reading today that the mother wants 6 horse drawn coaches to carry the kids to the funeral, now surely in my eyes if you can't afford an ordinary funeral is it no a bit of a cheek to ask folk to fork out for 6 horse drawn carriages oh and she wants white horses
tragic the kids should suffer but what a pair of wasters the parents are neither work nor want

Wild spring weather baffles bugs

The wettest April in more than a century has caused problems for UK butterflies, bees and other bugs.

Conservation charities, Butterfly Conservation and Buglife, said the weather was likely to limit some species' opportunities to forage.

If the unfavourable conditions continue, they could lead to population crashes.

Experts are particularly concerned about honeybees, which will not forage in the cold and could run out of food.

But some of the country's invertebrate population, such as snails and slugs, are likely to benefit from the deluge.

Facebook-obsessed New York pedestrians who update their status while walking are encouraged to watch where they're going by the set of warning sings placed on street lamps across the American city.
One sign from the Metropolitan Etiquette Authority reads: 'Pay Attention While Walking- Your Facebook Update can wait.'
However the notice didn't appear to make much of a difference in one suburb of the Empire State, after a plethora of oblivious pedestrians were spotted walking straight past the sign.

London's Torch Lands In Cornwall...

The Olympic flame has embarked on a 70-day tour of the UK in the run-up to the London 2012 Games.

Triple Olympic gold medallist sailor Ben Ainslie was the first torchbearer in the 8,000 mile relay, which set off from Land's End, Cornwall at 07:15 BST.

Cheering crowds greeted the flame as it passed through lanes and streets.

Donna Summer Died From 9/11 Dust?

Donna Summer, the 1970s pop singer known as the Queen of Disco, has died of lung cancer, an illness she believes she contracted from inhaling toxic particles released after the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York.

She had largely kept her battle with lung cancer out of the public eye. But the website TMZ reported that the singer had told friends she believed her illness was the result of inhaling toxic dust from the collapsed Twin Towers.

Spike Milligan's Epitaph Voted Best

Comedian Spike Milligan’s infamous epitaph “I told you I was ill” has been named the nation’s favourite, according to new research.

The Goon Show creator, who died in 2002 aged 83, received nearly two thirds of the vote in the new survey.

His words of wisdom was voted ahead of Oscar Wilde’s "Either those curtains go or I do" and Frank Sinatra’s "The best is yet to come" by a considerable margin.

One in 10 voters chose Wilde's while seven per cent voted for Sinatra's.

What Do Lottery Winners Buy?

Hot tubs, walk-in wardrobes and pet dogs are the most popular items bought by lottery winners, a survey has found.

Around half of winners move within three months of a big win and a poll of new millionaires found almost a third (29 per cent) splashed out on a hot tub and a similar number (28 per cent) had a walk-in wardrobe.

Nearly a quarter had electric gates at their new home, one in five set up a games room and 17 per cent bought a snooker table.

i've lived in this house for 16 years and seagulls have always nested in the house across the road, the woman has just moved up from manchester and look what she did

i could hear them in a terrible state, they smashed the nest and the eggs, now i know she's from a city but seagulls are protected by the country and wildlife act if she didn't want seabirds she should have stayed in bloody manchester
they look as if they are trying to rebuild the nest but i'm not sure, she should have had her chimney done before they started nesting

Mayor Stages "Sit In" at Bank

A mayor staged a three-hour sit-in protest in NatWest after 'ludicrous' bank staff refused to return his credit card when it was eaten by an ATM.

Coun Nader Fekri, the Mayor of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, held his one-man protest inside the NatWest Bank branch in Hebden Bridge, West Yorks, after his card became jammed in an ATM machine.

The stubborn dignitary told how he was asked to call a helpline if he wasn't happy but instead he refused to leave the bank for three hours, even after the branch had been closed, the doors were shut, and the police were called.
